DJ Tyrone Paulsen
Tyrone Paulsen is a born and bred Capetonian and describes himself as a radio guy, DJ, Voice over artist, Gatsby Connoisseur and proud dad. Tyrone’s love for radio started from a young age, hosting imaginary radio shows from a cardboard box on the streets of Mitchells Plain, annoying his family and neighbours. He was so impressed by groups like Prophets of the City & Black Noise who were performing on the streets during that time, especially the DJ’s! He knew then that music, DJ’ing and radio was where he needed to be.
Tyrone started his career in 1998 and spent time on various radio stations building his unique brand to become an established voice on radio, sort after Emcee and Club DJ, playing at some of the city’s biggest nightclubs, live festivals, and concerts abroad. Tyrone is really excited to be back home at Heart 104.9 FM and is ready to bring the “Heart Beat” to your weekend.
“The Heart Beat” will be an upbeat party mix of great old skool classics and current hits that’ll bring your weekend to life. Tyrone’s energy and obvious love of life will lift your mood, and he’ll invite you to share the love with regular shout-outs.
A Radio DJ trying live up to the dream of being a club DJ. That is how Tyrone Paulsen describes himself. He is obsessed with music and wanting to be DJ, well a good one.
Constantly trying to evolve and hone his DJ skills. " love hip hop, but I also love House music. I love all things with a beat and appreciate the music people make as I wish I was that talented. An occasional voice artist, Tyrone wants to be the next Don La Fon ... he searches for that one big voice over gig.....
But his first love is still DJ'ng, mixing music and making people dance is what makes me keep on .....
